Schedule time when you and the bride-to-be can review all the wedding plans, and look for opportunities where you can help, whether it's just being a great listener or ensuring that the caterer is on top of every detail.
BRIDAL PARTY BOSS
One of the most important roles of maid of honor is helping plan the bachelorette party, bridal shower and any wedding day bridal activities. You should always be the key point of contact for everyone in the bridal party.
THE SHOWER
The most detailed job of every maid of honor is planning the bridal shower, from decor and games to food and drink. Be sure to include everyone in the bridal party when planning to make it a meaningful and unforgettable bridal shower.
THE BACHELORETTE PARTY
Another (super fun) role for the maid of honor: planning the bachelorette party.
Remember to get a real sense of what the bride wants...and doesn't want. That way you can suggest options the bride loves, and then rally everyone in the bridal party to help bring it to life.
BE A BESTIE
It's your job to make sure you keep the bride happy and calm. On wedding day, in addition to holding her bouquet and adjusting her dress, make sure to check in from time to time throughout the day (and evening) to ensure that all is going as he envisioned. As her bestie and maid of honor, the best thing you can do is be there for her, celebrate her, and have fun.
At the 1-1 with your bride, definitely discuss the bachelorette party and what the bride wants and doesn’t want. From there, provide options that would work best for the bride and then work with your bridal party to make sure that the bachelorette party goes smoothly.
Make sure the bride is happy!
On the wedding day, aside from holding her bouquet and ruffling her dress, check in with the bride and ask her if she’s happy and if there’s anything that’s concerning her. As the best friend and MOH, the most important role you have is to be there for the bride. Make sure that she’s hydrated, that she is eating, and most importantly, having fun.
