BRIDE WE LOVE: MEET ERIN

An outdoor setting, a homemade wedding cake, and so much dancing.

After Erin’s first date with James, her next call was to Mom. Erin remembers telling her mother that this date felt different than the others; James was different, in all the best ways. The couple quickly fell into easy, candid conversations, shared common interests, and discovered they truly card for each other. After three years of dating and one year of engagement, they tied the knot!

NATURAL INSTINCTS: THE CEREMONY
Erin and James were married right on the water at Cuscowilla, a private club on Georgia’s Lake Oconee, with stunning scenery. The entire wedding was outdoors. As for décor, the couple didn’t want to distract from the nature around them, keeping the mood natural and elegant: string lighting through the trees, candles everywhere, soft ivory and green florals, and a clever nod to Erin’s passion for cooking: each table placard represented a different herb. (They had 18 tables!)

FAVORITE MOMENT:
While Erin loved every second of the wedding, her most-loved moments were on the dance floor, letting loose and celebrating all night long.

THE DRESS
Total serendipity. Erin planned to visit a dress boutique to see a specific dress, but left with her Platinum gown! Her sister discovered it while browsing the boutique and encouraged her to try it on. According to Erin, the instant she saw herself in the mirror, she knew that this was the dress—classic, unique and sexy. (She also fell in love with the hand beadwork and honeycomb pattern.)

THE FIRST DANCE
Erin and James danced their first as husband and wife to ‘80s band Ambrosia’s Biggest Part of Me.

MOST-LOVED WEDDING CAKE
Erin’s best friend’s mother just happens to make beautiful wedding cakes. (More serendipity.) The fact that she made Erin’s added an extra-special element to the wedding, not to mention how delicious it was; guests were asking for to-go boxes specifically for the cake! (Recipe, please?)

WHAT MAKES ERIN FEEL MOST BEAUTIFUL?
Her father always says, “When you look good, you feel good.” Erin follows this wisdom…and it works for her. “Whenever I spruce myself up a bit,” she says, “I feel my most beautiful.”

(Erin certainly looked stunning in her Platinum gown, so she must have been feeling her absolute best.)
