PLANNING THE PERFECT BACHELORETTE
Every bride has a different vision for her bachelorette party. As the bridesmaid or maid-of-honor, it’s your job to make the bride's vision come to life. Here’s how to do it right:
Involve the Bride
Once you decide on a location for the bachelorette party, start planning by having a heart-to-heart with the bride. Find out what her must-haves are, and what’s totally off-limits. You may want to involve one or two other people to help you plan, but in our experience, any more than that and you’ll end up planning by committee, which is, to be candid, a nightmare.
Budget with Everyone in Mind
It’s always thoughtful to contact everyone attending the bachelorette party with an estimate, and suggest that guests reach out to you individually with any concerns. It’s always best to make plans that fit the smallest budget so that nobody feels left out or unnecessarily anxious about being able to afford to attend.
Plan for Fun
Our favorite part: whether it’s one night or a long weekend, start planning all the details, including activities for all, (spa, mani/pedi, brunch, etc). Of course, traditional bachelorette party games also tend to be a hit.
Invitations
Customarily, It’s the bride’s decision who gets invited to the bachelorette. However, you might want to remind the bride that whoever is invited to the bachelorette party should also be invited to the wedding.
Be insta-Ready
Make sure your bachelorette party venue is properly styled to be snapped many times over. You can always bring additional flowers, custom decorations and other props to provide a great backdrop for all the pics.
Destination Weekends
If you’re planning a weekend getaway for your bachelorette party, you’ll get the best option in accommodations, as well as lower travel rates, if you book at least 6 months in advance.
Plan Your Parting Gifts
At the end of your bachelorette party, it’s always nice to gift each of your guests a small party favor. It can be a little sachet of sweets, a sampling of spa product, a handwritten note—anything that shows your gratitude.
Most important, check in on the bride every now and then to make sure she’s having fun, and to ask if she has any new requests now that the evening has started.
Above all, have fun! Bachelorette parties are a great time to bond with your besties, catch up, and let loose, not to mention a really fun way to celebrate the bride.
