DRESS REHEARSAL
How to choose the perfect dress for your rehearsal dinner.
While your shower, bachelorette and other gatherings may be equally important, the rehearsal dinner serves as the start to your wedding weekend. That said, as the bride, you’ll want to find a rehearsal dinner dress you love, and one that makes you feel confident, beautiful, and comfortable, inside and out.
CONSIDER THE VENUE
You coordinate your wedding gown with your wedding venue, right? Same goes for the rehearsal dinner. Depending on whether your rehearsal dinner is 5-star formal or as laid back as it gets, it’s a great opportunity to show off your individual style (Hint: cocktail dresses, flowing florals, an amazing jumpsuit, or an iconic LWD are all great choices).
MIX IT UP!
Rehearsal dinner dressing is all about having fun and getting creative. Instead of going for the same silhouette as your wedding gown, try a different style to balance out your looks. For example, if your gown is super modern, you might choose a floral maxi dress or a timeless lace sheath. And if you have a favorite trend, your rehearsal dinner is the time to wear it.
THE COLOR STORY
The full spectrum of white goes beautifully to your rehearsal dinner, but remember, you’re the bride and it’s your party. There are no rules except the ones you make. If you prefer to wear a rehearsal dinner dress in bright colors or soft pastels or bold prints, we say the sky’s the limit. Not to mention, you can always go for a little shimmer (hint: sequins and hand beading).
COMFORT ZONE
You’ll be floating about all evening welcoming friends and family from near and far. Make sure you’re not distracted by your rehearsal dinner dress, and that it’s comfortable to move in. While the bride’s rehearsal dinner dress is all about individual style, it should also be easygoing and relaxed—so you can be, too.
